Firearm Safety/Personal Protection in the Home Classes

If you own or plan to own firearms, enroll in a Lawrence Rod and Gun Club Massachusetts/NRA

Certified Firearms Safety Course.  BEING SAFE IS NO ACCIDENT.

• Firearm Instruction Programs Featuring
  Personal Protection in the Home and Firearms Safety - This course is designed to teach basic firearm safety and personal protection/confrontation in the home.  It is the class required by the Massachusetts State Police for first time applicants who wish to obtain a License to Carry (LTC) a Handgun or a Firearms Identification Card (FID).  They are scheduled for the last Saturday of each month and customarily run from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m..  To see if a class is full check the Club Upcoming Events Page, for future dates/time check the Club Calendar Page.

• In Addition:

1. Teaches safe handling of different types of firearms and proper use of them on the range.

2. Provides guidelines for selecting handguns and ammunition.

3. Instruction in the proper care and storage of firearms and ammunition.

4. Learn the fundamentals of handgun marksmanship.

5. Introduces techniques to maintain your shooting skills.

6. Highlights federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the purchase, ownership, possession and transportation of handguns.

7. "Live Fire" in which you receive one on one personal instruction in the use of a revolver and a semi-automatic pistol.

• Tuition Includes (Non-Members $100.00, Members $35.00, Junior Members Free):

1. Classroom Instruction and Range Use

2. Use of Firearms (revolver and pistol)

3. Ammunition (minimum of 20 rounds)

4. Text - NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection in the Home

5. Massachusetts and NRA Certificates of Completion

6. Note, if the student wishes to join Lawrence Rod and Gun Club the $50.00 Initiation Fee will be waived.

• Instructors Each is a Lawrence Rod and Gun Club Member and Certified by the State of Massachusetts in accordance with General Law Chapter 140, 131P and 515 CMR 3.00 and the National Rifle Association to teach the following courses:

Chuck Chory - NRA, Mass Hunter Education, and Mass State Police Certified Basic Firearms Safety Instructor
